Epic Games, Fortnite Battle Royale emerged on the play store a little while back and ever since all I’ve seen are notifications of my friends playing this game… Like constantly!
For those who haven’t seen or just don’t get it basically it’s an all against all fight to the finish between you and 99 others. The typical game round kicks of with you skydiving into what you think to be the best position to take out a few enemies, gather some weapons and supplies and hold out from the imposing magnetic storm.
PC gamers and YouTube fans will probably notice this is a cartoon clone of Blue Hole’s Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, albeit some features vary. One of these is the ability to craft and destroy the structures in the game. Although, honestly, you are more likely to be seeking refuge from either other players in the game, or the looming magnetic storm.
Fortnite Battle Royale is by far a comparison to Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds; although it is a clone. What we mean is the game format is the same; all against all bloodthirsty combat set over one large map. However, Fortnite has been cleverly watered down for the sofa slouched console gamer. The cartoon graphics are similarly styled to some of the more popular arena games that have emerged in recent years, such as Overwatch and it’s bubbly cast and candy crusted cartography.
If I were completely honest, I’d rather have seen the re-emerging of cult classic freebies such as; Castle Wolfenstein or Americas Army. Something a bit more gritty, but who’s to complain. After the success of Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds you wouldn’t be disappointed if you give this a shot!
- Don’t bother building anything.
- Find a weapon pronto, they’re the glowing pickups around the map.
- Always be moving, head towards the safe area, vigilantly.
- If you have to build something, keep it short and sweet.
- !! Play with friends, it makes the game so much better !!
